Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Birmingham, AL to upkeep and repair production equipment and manage maintenance records. The role involves PM tasks, safeguarding tools and inventory, and following safety protocols such as Lock Out/Tag Out.

Must have basic mechanic experience and high school or trade training. Responsibilities include reviewing equipment reports, logging repairs, and performing maintenance to ensure continuous day/night operations.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent preferred.
• Mechanic training or trade school degree preferred.
• Minimum six months of mechanic experience required.
• Knowledge of equipment repair and operation; welding ability.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance on production/facility equipment to keep machinery available for shifts.
• Review equipment reports, log actions taken, maintain repair logs.
• Perform preventive maintenance and maintain PM logs per policy.
• Adhere to safety guidelines including LOTO, placarding and safe work environment.
• Manage tools, parts, and maintenance equipment, inventory and security of the tool area.
