Job summary

Ventura Foods seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to sustain optimal equipment conditions in a food manufacturing environment. You will train production staff, reduce downtime, and ensure adherence to safety and food-safety standards on site in Birmingham, AL.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in food manufacturing, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems while following HACCP, GMP, and FSMA requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform corrective and emergency maintenance to maximize machine uptime.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and work orders to increase asset life.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical/electrical issues.
• Rebuild pumps, mills, gearboxes and other mechanical components.
• Use plant systems to generate work requests, track hours and initiate purchasing.
• Assist Production Machine Operators in troubleshooting equipment problems.
• Train Machine Operators with up-to-date information to improve skills.
• Comply with HACCP, OSHA, GMPs and FSMA policies.
