Job summary

Grailbio is seeking an Equipment Engineer I to provide professional engineering support for evaluation, installation, modification, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. The role focuses on reliability, performance, and compliance, collaborating with engineers, technicians, and cross‑functional partners to advance technical solutions and maintain documentation.

The position is on-site in Durham, NC, working the weekend shift Sat–Tue 6:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, manufacturing engineering or related technical discipline.
• 0–2 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs engineering analyses by collecting data, reviewing trends, and preparing observations to support equipment performance assessments.
• Supports installation, modification, and qualification of manufacturing equipment and aligns with production requirements.
• Executes maintenance and adjustments on complex equipment using procedural knowledge and hands-on expertise.
• Contributes to equipment troubleshooting and development of corrective actions and process improvements.
• Maintains engineering documentation including specifications, change records, and technical instructions.
