Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a skilled Inventory Control Specialist to develop, implement, and maintain centralized equipment management for patient care and ancillary departments. The role coordinates the equipment handling team to drive efficient labor use and optimal equipment utilization.

The perfect candidate will have an Associate degree in supply chain or a HS diploma with relevant healthcare supply chain experience, and a minimum four years in the field.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in supply chain or equivalent with two years of supply chain experience, or High School Diploma with four years of supply chain experience.
• Four years of supply chain experience in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains inventory locator systems to facilitate easy retrieval for all items.
• Serve as the administrator for equipment handling system.
• Prioritizes workload to manage multiple priorities.
• Provides guidance and coaching to less experienced team members.
• Analyze and trend clinical equipment cost, spend, and utilization data, with a focus on high-cost products.
• Assists in identifying and resolving daily operation problems within required timeframes.
• Collaborates with leadership and staff to maintain equipment pars to support operational needs of the facility.
• Supervises compliance with storage regulations and guidelines per policy and regulatory directives.
• Engages clinical and non-clinical staff to determine PAR levels and items suitable for on-site storage.

Position is responsible for coordination of all team members within equipment handling ensuring efficiency of labor and optimization of equipment utilization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
