Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field AND six months of supply chain experience, OR high school diploma with two years of experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• CMRP certification preferred; business degree also considered.

Responsibilities

• Develops and manages efficient acquisition systems for items managed by Materials Handling.
• Maintains perpetual inventory counts and locator systems for easy retrieval.
• Maintains reorder management systems with par levels and min/max parameters to balance service and inventory.
• Develops materials cost and inventory reduction programs and provides data to measure cost-reduction progress.
• Develops and analyzes reports (ABC, usage history) to target inventory efficiency.
• Conducts year-end physical inventory and periodic counts.
• Maintains performance standards for materials systems and provides hospital-wide inventory expertise.
• Counts and distributes supplies including linens as needed to meet daily operations.
• Determines daily order requirements via Lawson, counts, and observation.
• Acts as a buying team member to coordinate with Procurement and vendors for special situations.
• Coordinates special deliveries or borrowing from other hospitals when short supply occurs.
• Maintains competence and acts as back-up in absence of others in Materials Management Inventory Control Analysts.
• Assists director in budget cost centers and maintains Lawson/Crystal data integrity.
• Provides reports via Lawson, Crystal, or electronic spreadsheets; assists in training staff on Lawson functions.
• Serves on Value Analysis and other hospital committees as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or related field of study AND six (6) months of Supply Chain experience OR High School Diploma or equivalent AND two (2) years of Supply Chain experience
• Valid Driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

• Certified Materials and Resource Professional (CMRP).
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.

Experience

• Four years of Supply Chain experience in a healthcare environment.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• In conjunction with Procurement, develops and manages efficient acquisition systems for items managed by Materials Handling (MH).
• Develops and maintains systems which assure the accuracy of perpetual inventory counts and inventory locator systems to facilitate easy retrieval for all items.
• Develops and maintains reorder management systems (to include the application of par levels and min/max parameters) to assure a high level of customer service while minimizing inventory levels.
• Develops materials cost and inventory reduction programs and provides data to measure progress towards cost reduction targets.
• Develops and analyzes reports (i.e., ABC analysis, usage history, etc.) to target efforts to maximize inventory efficiencies
• Conducts the year-end physical inventory and other periodic inventory counts as necessary.
• Develops and maintains performance standards for materials systems.
• Provides inventory management expertise hospital-wide.
• Accurately count and distribute supplies including clean linen if applicable throughout the hospital in a timely and accurate manner ensuring daily operational needs are met.
• Ascertains daily order requirements through Lawson recommendations, physical counts, and personal observation.
• Has budgetary signature authority and places orders for needed items on a daily basis.
• Serves as a member of the buying team for items managed by MH to coordinate with Procurement, vendors, and hospital to make purchasing decisions for special situations (product back orders, urgent/emergent needs, unusual patient requirements, etc.
• Coordinates special deliveries from vendors or borrowing from other hospitals for items which are in short supply for any reason (back orders, usage spikes, unique patient specific needs, etc.).
• Maintains competencies and serves as back up in the absence of other Materials Management Inventory Control Analysts.
• Assists the director in developing and monitoring budget cost centers as assigned by the director.
• Maintains proficiency in the use of Lawson/Crystal and coordinates with the Application System Analyst to assure that the Lawson database is maintained in a current and accurate manner.
• Maintains necessary accounting knowledge and coordinates with Finance to assure that all necessary financial matters handled appropriately (perpetual inventory reconciliation, Lawson/GL interface, manual billings, etc.
• Provides reports through Lawson, Crystal or electronic spreadsheets as requested.
• Assists in training other personnel (Materials Handling Attendants, Inventory Control Analysts, etc.) with respect to inventory management and other related Lawson functions.
• Serves on Value Analysis and other hospital committees as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Requires prolonged sitting and time on feet, some bending, stooping and stretching.
• Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment.
• Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate reports.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

• Work is performed in an office and perioperative services environment.
• Work may be stressful at times.

Skills And Abilities

• Proven skills in project management, software implementation, training, and people management.
• Familiar with using computerized applications including accounting software, spreadsheets, and word processing.
• Demonstrates ability to recognize and solve basic hardware and software problems.
• Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment. Maintains a high degree of customer service commitment with the ability to communicate data in front of diverse groups.
• Knowledge of inventory control methods, purchasing. contracting, receiving of medical supplies, services, and hospital operations.
