Job summary

The Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences at Texas A&M University invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Equine Soft Tissue Surgery at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The successful candidate will join a nine-faculty Large Animal Surgery service with a focus on exceptional teamwork and client communication.

Clinical-track duties include clinical service, didactic teaching, scholarly activities, and service.

Qualifications

• Must have a DVM (or equivalent) degree.
• PhD in a relevant field (tenure-track).
• Board certification by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) or be eligible to take Phase II of the ACVS examination.
• Provide high-quality patient care for a referral population of large animal surgical patients.
• Must meet requirements for veterinary licensure in the State of Texas.
• Possession of, or eligibility for, a DEA certificate.

Responsibilities

• Clinical track: 50–60% clinical service, 20–30% teaching, 10–20% scholarly activities, 10% service.
• Tenure track: 40–50% clinical service, 10–20% teaching, 30–40% research and scholarly activities, 10% service.
