Job summary

City of Phoenix is seeking an Equal Opportunity Specialist in the Small Business Support Division to monitor contracts and ensure fair access to City contracting opportunities. The role involves investigations, site visits, audits, and delivering training and outreach events to diverse stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will report to the EOS Lead and collaborate with contractors, regulatory agencies, and community partners while maintaining accurate records across databases and Office tools.

Qualifications

• Three years of professional experience in the investigation and evaluation of civil rights complaints, advocacy, or education, equal opportunity, or community relations outreach activities.
• Bachelor's degree in political science, business administration, personnel, law, or a related field.
• Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
• All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position.

Responsibilities

• Monitor contracts to ensure compliance with small business participation.
• Conduct investigations, site visits, and audits to assess program adherence.
• Deliver public forums, stakeholder meetings, and outreach events.
• Present training materials for internal and external audiences.
• Collaborate with contractors, community partners, and regulatory agencies.
• Prepare analytical reports and briefings.
• Maintain accurate records using databases, accounting systems, and Microsoft Office tools.
