Merck & Co., Inc. invites qualified graduate students to apply for the 2027 Summer Internship in BARDS Epidemiology and RWE Capabilities & Analytics.

The program lasts 10-12 weeks and offers real-world health data projects with opportunities to present findings within the company and externally. Interns will perform literature reviews, data analyses, and visualization development while contributing to protocol writing and manuscript preparation.

Qualifications

Must commit to full-time employment for 10-12 weeks beginning May or June 2027.
Must return to school Fall 2027 unless internship is a degree requirement.
Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Summarize background information via targeted literature review.
Conduct data analysis in real-world health data sources to understand data quality, disease identification or treatment patterns, develop and validate prediction models.
Summarize and interpret study results.
Contribute to protocol development and manuscript writing.
Contribute to development and update of visualization tools (e.g., dashboard, geospatial visuals) of real-world data.
Contribute to development of materials to understand AI and ML methods.
Communicate findings to internal or external audiences.
