Job summary

Merck is offering a Future Talent Program internship in BARDS within our Research and Development division. The summer position targets MS/PhD students in Statistics or Biostatistics and provides hands-on statistical analysis experience under the guidance of a seasoned pharmaceutical statistician.

Interns will work on projects spanning basic drug research, clinical pharmacology, and biomarker development, with exposure to AI/ML methods and health technology assessment.

Qualifications

• Enrollment as a graduate student with at least two semesters completed toward an MS or PhD in Statistics or Biostatistics by May 2027.
• Available to work full-time for 12 weeks beginning in May or June 2027.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Good working knowledge of SAS, S-Plus, and/or R.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with an experienced pharmaceutical statistician to perform statistical analysis of data and related statistical research.
• Contribute to projects in basic drug research, clinical pharmacology, and biomarker development, including AI/ML approaches.
