Job Description
The Principal trainer (PT) works with the training manager, application coordinators, and application managers to develop and maintain the training program for the roles in their applications. PTs for applications that train clinicians also work with specialty champions.
Responsibilities
- Develop role‑based training content, independently or with team members, using a variety of software programs, tools, and applications
- Design, develop, and maintain instructional materials
- Maintain policy and procedure documentation
- Incorporate feedback from others into existing training and training administration procedures
- Learn new content and consult with subject‑matter experts to develop training materials and answer any participant questions
- Assist with building and testing training environments and provide support and troubleshooting of issues
- Collaborate with other trainers by co‑facilitating classroom instruction and assisting with exercises as needed
- Prepare training lessons, print materials, and set up the training room and environment prior to training sessions
- Present information verbally and in writing in clear and easy‑to‑understand manner
- Follow up with trainees outside of the classroom to offer additional support
- Train and credential additional classroom trainers as needed
- Train staff and end users by teaching technical topics as needed
- Manage projects by prioritizing tasks and adhering to timelines

- Application fundamentals classes at Epic
- TED100: Overview of Training for Training Managers
- Additional required and recommended classes and training tracks
Required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Certified Project Management (CPM)
- English (required)
- Ability to work onsite with project team as needed
- Travel up to 30%
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (preferred)
