Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Principal Trainer for a hybrid role based in Secaucus, NJ or Schaumburg, IL. The position supports developing and maintaining the training program for clinical applications, collaborating with application coordinators and managers.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and Epic Certification (Cadence, Prelude, or Patient Access). Travel about 25% and opportunities for remote work if hybrid criteria are not met are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
• Active Epic Certification in Cadence, Prelude, or Patient Access (Required).

Responsibilities

• Developing role-based training content, independently or with team members, using a variety of software programs, tools, and applications.
• Designing, developing, and maintaining instructional materials
• Maintaining policy and procedure documentation
• Incorporating feedback from others into existing training and training administration procedures
• Learning new content and consulting with subject matter experts to develop training materials and answer any participant questions
• Assisting with building and testing training environments and providing support and troubleshooting issues
• Collaborating with other trainers by co-facilitating classroom instruction and assisting with exercise as needed
• Preparing training lessons, printing materials and setting up the training room and environment prior to training session
• Presenting information verbally and in writing in clear and easy to understand manner
• Following up with trainees outside of classroom to offer additional support
• Training and credentialing additional classroom trainers as needed
• Training staff and end users by teaching technical topics as needed
• Managing project by prioritizing projects and by creating and adhering to timeliness

This is hybrid opportunity (3 days in-office & 2 days remote) out of either our Secaucus, NJ or Schaumburg, IL office. This role may also be remote if location criteria for hybrid are not met.

The Principal trainer (PT) works with the training manager, application coordinators, and application managers to develop and maintain the training program for the roles in their application. PTs for applications that train clinicians also work with specialty champions.

Qualifications

Required Education

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Active Epic Certification in Cadence, Prelude, or Patient Access (Required)

Preferred

• Professional experience and completion of 3 full-cycle implementations (Preferred)
• Application fundamentals classes at Epic
• TED100: Overview of Training for Training Managers
• Additional required and recommended classes and training tracks

Work Requirements

• Travel Required - 25% (About +/- one week a month)
