Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Epic Orders Analyst to support the analysis, design, configuration, testing, implementation, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of Epic Orders applications.
This role serves as a key liaison between end users, operational leaders, project team members, Information Technology resources, and Epic. The Epic Orders Analyst will translate operational and business needs into effective system solutions while delivering exceptional customer service and application support.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently across multiple priorities. Strong communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and relationship-building skills are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, configure, test, implement, support, and maintain Epic Orders applications, workflows, solutions, and business processes.
- Work closely with the Team Lead and Manager to research, plan, build, test, and implement approved projects.
- Partner with leadership to support solution delivery and appropriately expedite risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of Epic functionality and applicable operational workflows.
- Analyze workflows, business requirements, data, reporting needs, and technical issues associated with Epic applications.
- Translate business and operational requirements into functional specifications and system design strategies.
- Evaluate operational requirements and system capabilities to recommend effective solutions.
- Apply workflow knowledge to system configuration in support of operational and Information Technology strategies, priorities, and initiatives.
- Perform data analysis using Epic and other technical tools to identify requirements, address data inaccuracies, and support accurate processing and reporting.
- Manage updates and requested system changes, including prioritization, coordination, testing, and implementation.Review and test new Epic releases, upgrades, enhancements, and system changes.
- Perform and document unit, system, regression, and integration testing in accordance with established standards.
- Troubleshoot application issues, resolve end-user concerns, and elevate complex problems when appropriate.
- Provide onsite go-live, upgrade, production, and ongoing application support.
- Partner with the Service Desk to respond to help desk tickets and end-user requests.
- Participate in change control processes and follow established standards for system configuration and documentation.
- Optimize and maintain assigned applications to support operational performance and system reliability.
- Collaborate with application teams to ensure implementations are properly executed and applications remain well supported.
- Build strong relationships with end-user communities, operational stakeholders, providers, business partners, Information Technology teams, and Epic representatives.
- Facilitate clear communication with stakeholders from initial requirements gathering through final implementation.
- Apply change management principles while maintaining open, professional, and positive communication with end users and colleagues.
- Participate in team and department meetings and contribute to cross-functional application initiatives.
- Meet application deliverables, project milestones, and established timelines.
- Prepare weekly status reports and maintain timely project, data, and time-tracking documentation.
- Provide on-call support as required, including troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
- Perform other related duties as assigned, including duties necessary to support patient welfare or efficient organizational operations during an emergency.
Required Certification
- Active Epic Orders certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Senior-level experience supporting Epic Orders applications.
- Strong experience with Epic application analysis, design, configuration, testing, implementation, optimization, and production support.
- Ability to analyze complex operational workflows and translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Experience managing multiple projects, assignments, and cross-functional initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrated professionalism, accountability, and ownership of assigned applications and deliverables.
