Job summary

Our client is seeking a Senior Epic Application Analyst to join its Information Systems team, focusing on Epic development, support, and implementation.

You will translate clinical and operational needs into Epic solutions, mentor junior analysts, and collaborate with stakeholders to drive improvements across departments.

This role offers exposure to a large healthcare environment with challenging project work and opportunities for leadership.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of healthcare information systems experience including development, implementation, analysis, design, build, testing, or production support
  • Epic or comparable healthcare information systems experience required
  • Experience in a large, complex enterprise information systems environment
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex application and system issues
  • Experience mentoring or guiding other analysts
  • Working knowledge of healthcare operations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Translate departmental and end-user Epic requirements into effective technical solutions
  • Conduct project reviews and process walkthroughs to identify improvements
  • Perform analysis, design, build, testing, and implementation of Epic applications and related systems
  • Provide technical expertise for Epic and other enterprise applications
  • Provide ongoing Epic application support to end users
  • Participate in after-hours/on-call rotation
  • Serve as a technical resource for other analysts

Job description

Our client, a large and complex healthcare organization, is seeking an experienced Senior Epic Application Analyst to join its Information Systems team.

This position is ideal for an Epic-certified professional with strong application support, systems analysis, implementation, and problem-solving experience. The successful candidate will work closely with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to translate business needs into effective Epic solutions while supporting projects, system enhancements, and ongoing operations.

The role also provides an opportunity to serve as a technical resource and mentor to less-experienced analysts.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience
  • 4+ years of progressively responsible healthcare information systems experience, including systems development, implementation, analysis, design, build, testing, and/or production support
  • Previous Epic or comparable healthcare information systems experience required
  • Experience working within a large, complex enterprise information systems environment
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex application and system issues
  • Experience assisting, mentoring, or providing technical guidance to other analysts
  • Working knowledge of healthcare or hospital operations strongly preferred
Technical & Professional Skills
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Epic application support, development tools, and methodologies
  • Strong systems analysis and technical aptitude
  • Ability to translate user, clinical, and departmental requirements into technical solutions
  • Strong troubleshooting and complex problem-solving capabilities

Key Responsibilities
Epic Systems Development & Administration
  • Translate departmental and end-user Epic requirements into effective technical solutions
  • Conduct project reviews and process walkthroughs to identify technical, clinical, and operational improvements
  • Perform intermediate to advanced analysis, design, build, testing, and implementation of Epic applications and related systems
  • Apply established information systems methodologies and development practices
  • Provide technical expertise for Epic and other enterprise applications
Application Support
  • Provide ongoing Epic application support to end users
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex application and system issues
  • Support development projects, enhancements, upgrades, and related initiatives
  • Participate in an after-hours/on-call rotation
  • Serve as a technical resource for other analysts and team members
Technical Standards & Quality
  • Help establish and maintain technical development, application support, and information-management standards
  • Promote consistent processes and best practices across assigned systems and projects
  • Ensure solutions meet organizational requirements for quality, reliability, security, and performance
Project Planning & Coordination
  • Develop, prioritize, and execute assigned projects according to established schedules
  • Coordinate activities across multiple stakeholders and workstreams
  • Maintain appropriate project documentation, priorities, plans, and schedules
  • Regularly communicate project status, risks, and progress to management
Training & Team Development
  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of training for staff
  • Mentor and support less-experienced analysts
  • Serve as a technical resource and contribute to team knowledge sharing
  • Maintain required continuing education and technical competencies
