Job summary

Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH seeks an Epic Application Coordinator – Laboratory IS to configure, test, and maintain Epic Laboratory applications. The role collaborates with laboratory leadership, clinicians, IT teams, and Epic representatives to ensure compliant, efficient workflows and data integrity.

You will gather requirements, design builds within Epic, and manage testing, upgrades, and end-user training across a large hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with Epic Laboratory modules and ongoing support.
• Background in clinical laboratory operations or healthcare IT.
• Strong requirements gathering, analysis, and problem-solving.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate testing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; document and train end users.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Clinical Lab Science, or Healthcare Informatics; equivalent experience.
• Epic certification in Laboratory applications preferred.
• Experience in a large hospital or health system with data privacy and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Configure, test, and maintain Epic Laboratory applications to support workflows.
• Gather and analyze user requirements; design/update builds within Epic.
• Perform system and integration testing and coordinate upgrades.
• Collaborate with laboratory leadership, clinicians, IT, and Epic reps.
• Troubleshoot issues, optimize workflows, ensure data integrity and compliance.
• Develop and maintain documentation; support end-user training.
• Participate in on-call rotation for timely application support.
