Job summary

Abbott is hiring a Sr. Software Engineer for the EPIC Cancer Diagnostics team, with a lead role in design, development, and testing of software applications. The role emphasizes Epic’s data architecture, Chronicles, Clarity, and Caboodle, data extraction, and API integrations.

Based in Madison, WI or Redwood City, CA, you will mentor juniors, influence design decisions, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure high-quality solutions compliant with QA policies.

Qualifications

• Experience with Epic’s data model and architecture, including Chronicles, Clarity, and Caboodle, and data extraction processes.
• Proficiency in SQL and data troubleshooting within Epic environments.
• Experience developing, reading, debugging, and maintaining MUMPS/Cache ObjectScript.
• Experience designing and developing apps that access cloud-based frameworks (Azure/AWS).
• Experience with cloud-based frameworks (Azure/AWS).
• Experience with APIs and system integrations.
• Epic certification or accreditation in Beaker/Clarity/Caboodle is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Apply expertise in Epic’s data architecture to design, develop, and support data integration solutions.
• Leverage Chronicles, Clarity, Caboodle for data extraction, transformation, delivery.
• Troubleshoot medium-complexity issues in major software applications and debug bugs.
• Lead design reviews and influence project delivery with minimal instructions.
• Mentor junior team members and build partnerships with stakeholders and SMEs.
• Communicate project plans/designs and status updates effectively.
