Job summary

Abbott Cancer Diagnostics in Madison, WI is seeking a Senior Epic Application Analyst to lead business systems design, configuration, upgrades, and improvements for Epic platforms.

You will mentor junior analysts, act as primary end-user liaison, perform impact analysis, develop test plans, and ensure delivery aligns with business needs. The role requires 5+ years Epic experience, certification, and US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field; or high school degree/general education diploma and 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
• 5+ years of experience developing or configuring technology solutions, either in an application analyst or project delivery role and Subject Matter Expert in one or more areas: patient identification workflows, revenue cycle, CRM & MyChart, Patient Registration, or lab order entry.
• Possession of or ability to obtain relevant Epic software application(s) certification within 8 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead the estimation of enhancement or support requests.
• Guide workflow design, configure and test system changes, and analyze technical issues.
• Liaise with business systems stakeholders and software vendor’s implementation staff, ensuring alignment of business needs with delivery of systems changes.
• Develop an understanding of operational needs to set the direction for the organization's workflows; proactively identify opportunities to improve business workflow with technology improvements.
• Participate in training and work with end users.
• Troubleshoot problems and questions.
• Provide end-user support for issues entered into tracking systems.
• Review the status of projects and issues with project leadership.
• Assign or delegate configuration or other activities to Application Analysts or Managed Services team members.
• Act as delegate for Applications Manager for incident or problem resolution.
• Provide mentorship for other peers and leadership to solve problems, even if it's outside of their normal responsibilities/scope.
• Be a leader on internal process design and documentation to drive continuous improvement for the IT department or team.
• Ability to work within normal business hours, as well as on-call, with potential for nights and weekends.
