Job summary

You will collaborate with providers, ensure compliance with coding guidelines, participate in education, audits and process improvements while using Epic and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of pro fee coding experience with at least three (3) years within assigned specialty service line
• CPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or CCS-P credential required
• Requires E/M (Evaluation & Management) coding experience and Epic experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Navigate Epic EMR and related reports/work queues
• Evaluate and resolve coding edits in assigned work queues
• Review documentation and assign CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 codes and modifiers
• Follow coding bundling guidelines and modifier usage
• Understand Medicare Physician Fee Schedule
• Communicate coding trends and education opportunities to leadership
• Communicate with providers via Epic in-basket and email
• Utilize Microsoft Office Suite and Encoder Pro
• Provide education/training for medical providers and coders
• Perform quality assurance audits and monitor workflows for improvement
