Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare in West Valley City, UT is seeking a skilled medical coder to accurately evaluate and resolve coding edits in Epic WQs. You will assign CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 codes and modifiers, and ensure compliance with Medicare guidelines.

This role requires 5+ years of professional fee coding experience and CPC or CCS-P credentials. You’ll work with Epic/PB Resolute, Microsoft Office, and communicate trends to leadership, providing education to providers and coders, and performing QA

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of pro fee coding experience with at least three (3) years within assigned specialty service line
• Preferred seven plus (7+) years of related coding experience
• Required credential: CPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist Physician (CCS-P)
• Requires E/M (Evaluation & Management) coding and experience coding for the assigned specialty specific service line
• Prefer previous experience using Epic and working work queues

Responsibilities

• Navigate Epic EMR and applicable reports and work queues.
• Evaluate and resolve coding edits in Charge Review, Claim Edit, and Follow-up queues in Epic.
• Review documentation and assign CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 codes and modifiers.
• Educate providers and coders within the department.
• Perform quality assurance audits within the specialty team.
• Ensure compliance with coding regulations and guidelines.
• Communicate coding trends and education opportunities to coding leadership.
