Job summary

Intermountain Health in Utah seeks a seasoned coder to accurately evaluate and resolve edits in Epic work queues, assigning CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 codes and modifiers. You will review documentation, ensure correct coding, and educate providers on trends and opportunities.

The role requires extensive pro fee coding experience, CPC/CCS-P credentials, and Epic/Resolute familiarity. Excellent communication with providers and leadership is essential for quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum five (5) years of pro fee coding experience with at least three (3) years within the assigned specialty service line.
• Preferred seven plus (7+) years of related coding experience.
• Required credential: CPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist Physician (CCS-P).
• Requires E/M (Evaluation & Management) coding experience for the assigned specialty service line.
• Prefer previous Epic and/or PB Resolute experience.

Responsibilities

• Accurately evaluate and resolve coding edits in assigned Charge Review, Claim Edit, and Follow-up work queues in Epic.
• Review medical record documentation and assign appropriate CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 codes and modifiers.
• Communicate coding/denial trends and provider education opportunities to coding leadership.
• Effectively navigate Epic EMR and related work queues.
• Provide education/training for medical providers and coders within the department.
• Perform quality assurance audits and ensure compliance with coding regulations.
