Job summary

Adventist HealthCare in Gaithersburg, MD seeks an Epic Clinical Information System Analyst III for the Beaker Lab Department to advance enterprise workflow design, configure and maintain Epic Beaker functionality, and optimize integrated solutions across lab domains.

The role leads complex projects, coordinates cross-functional teams, and serves as a senior liaison with governance groups, end users, and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in healthcare, information systems, business, or a related field.
• 7-8 years of direct clinical, healthcare operations, clinical information systems, application support, or related experience in an integrated EHR environment.
• Epic certification in assigned application(s) or must be obtained within the timeframe established by AHC and maintained thereafter.
• No formal supervisory experience required but demonstrated ability to lead large workstreams and cross-functional teams.
• Must be able to travel, participate in on-call coverage, and extended-hour support for major projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced analysis and enterprise workflow design; architect, configure, build, test, validate, optimize, and maintain Epic functionality across boundaries.
• Resolve high-impact, ambiguous, or cross-application incidents; direct root-cause analysis and durable corrective actions.
• Plan and lead large Epic projects, upgrades, implementations, and optimization initiatives; establish scope, milestones, risks, and testing strategy.
• Serve as a senior liaison for operational leaders, governance bodies, Epic representatives, end users, vendors, and technical teams.
• Establish and reinforce standards for design, build, testing, change control, and production support; perform quality reviews of complex work.
• Mentor and develop analysts, coordinate shared work, and lead knowledge transfer and training.
