Job summary

Adventist HealthCare is seeking an experienced Epic Clinical Information System Analyst I for the Beaker Lab Department in the Gaithersburg, MD area. The role covers build, testing, and support of Epic Beaker Lab workflows, helping ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance.

The position requires 3–5 years in healthcare IT with Epic experience preferred but not required; it includes on-site work with standard 40-hour weeks, day shift, and after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in healthcare, information systems, business, or a related field; substitution allowed year-for-year.
• 3–5 years of direct clinical/healthcare operations, information systems, or application support experience; Epic experience preferred but not required.
• Must meet Epic training requirements and obtain certification within the defined timeframe; current clinical licensure preferred when relevant.

Responsibilities

• Analyze defined operational and clinical workflow needs; configure, build, test, and validate assigned Epic functionality under guidance.
• Serve as support contact for assigned applications; respond to end-user questions, troubleshoot incidents, document findings, and escalate as needed.
• Identify and implement approved system changes, including requirements clarification, testing, change-control documentation, and post-change validation.
• Collaborate with SMEs, end users, Epic reps, and other teams to align system functionality with business needs and timelines.
• Develop and maintain accurate documentation; contribute to knowledge articles, training materials, and SOPs.
• Participate in project meetings, site visits, integrated sessions, and status reviews; communicate deliverables, risks, and dependencies.
