Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a Manager of Inpatient Clinical Documentation (ClinDoc) to oversee Epic-related workflows, device integration, and third‑party applications across inpatient services. The role leads a team of Epic analysts covering ASAP, ClinDoc, Case Management, and Stork.

The position requires strong Epic experience, strategic oversight, and collaboration with clinical leadership to implement, support, and enhance EHR tools while guiding project timelines and user adoption.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of related experience, or a Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years in EHR analysis.
• Proven leadership of a technical team and ability to manage complex workflows.
• Strong knowledge of clinical applications operations, Epic modules, and clinical workflows.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills; able to translate needs to technical solutions.
• Experience collaborating with senior management and vendors to improve systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates daily operations of the clinical applications team.
• Evaluates quality and productivity for optimal user experience and system functionality.
• Manages implementation and maintenance of clinical applications within budget and schedule.
• Recruits, develops, and evaluates staff; influences personnel decisions as needed.
• Oversees end-user support, training, and user documentation; coordinates external support.
