Job summary

UMC Health System seeks a Manager of IT Applications to lead teams delivering implementation, support, and optimization of Epic and other applications. You will partner with IT and operations to design solutions that meet business needs and ensure quality and reliability of Epic integrations.

Responsibilities include budgeting, staffing, training, vendor collaboration, and on‑call coverage. A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in IT/healthcare and Epic IT experience are preferred; ITIL is required or

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree recommended; 3+ years experience in IT healthcare, EHR development/implementation
Certification in at least one Epic Application within six months of hire is required
ITIL certification required or obtained within one year of hire

Responsibilities

Manages analyst performance and prioritizes workload and assignments to meet business needs.
Provides input into department goals and professional development.
Assists in development of budgets and ensures adherence to approved budgets.
Oversees recruiting, hiring, counseling, appraising, and terminating employees with HR.
Identifies personnel development needs, provides training opportunities, and conducts annual reviews.
Provides leadership and ensures success of supported Epic applications.
Recommends technology solutions to improve clinical and operational processes.
Collaborates with internal teams, consultants, and vendors to develop reports/systems.
