Job summary

UAB Medicine is hiring for a Health System Information Services (HSIS) role focusing on Epic-based software operations within Alabama’s leading health system. You will participate in analysis, design, implementation, and ongoing support of healthcare software, ensuring stable, compliant operations and strong stakeholder collaboration.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in IT and Epic certifications, with a path to certification completion within 12 weeks if not yet certified.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field is required.
• Two years of healthcare support experience are required; work experience may substitute for education.
• Epic certification in area of support or certification obtained within 12 weeks of Epic training is required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate business needs; gather requirements with stakeholders.
• Provide data through visualization and documentation to analyze and monitor current system functionality and evaluate new requests.
• Review peers' work and follow change control processes to implement changes.
• Maintain technical and functional documentation for self; review peer documentation for standards.
• Evaluate system performance criteria and mitigate risk related to Epic system operations.
• Perform on-call duties and provide user support 24/7, collaborating across hardware, software, and processes.

Education
