Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Health System Information Services professional to participate in analysis, design, implementation, and ongoing support of Epic-based healthcare operations. You will maintain relationships with stakeholders and optimize system performance to support patient care and business needs.

Ideal candidates have Epic experience or certification (within 12 weeks of training) and the ability to lead projects, ensure HIPAA compliance, and provide 24/7 on-call support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field; six years of healthcare application support preferred
• Epic certification in area of support or certification within 12 weeks of Epic training (required)

Responsibilities

• Leads identification and evaluation of clinical business needs and requirements for workflows
• Provides advanced troubleshooting, visualizations, and documentation for Epic functionality
• Leads multiple projects, guiding peers through change control and documentation of Epic systems
• Defines system performance criteria and guides operational practices for Epic system operations
• Investigates system enhancements and best practices for Epic interfaces
• Assumes on-call duties and develops procedures for 24/7 user support (hardware, software, processes)
• Ensures compliance and security by following HIPAA and other regulations
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Communications with vendors, customers, and management; proficient with Microsoft Office
