Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Akron, OH seeks a Staff Expeditor to support EPC projects from PO through closeout. You will track deliverables, monitor supplier production, and provide schedule updates to the project team.

Responsibilities include coordinating with suppliers on fabrication, transportation, and site lifting plans, scheduling deliveries to multiple sites, and reporting discrepancies. Travel is up to 25% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Construction management or related field and 3 years direct experience in project procurement expediting required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Basic knowledge of Primavera scheduling reports and the use of material/submittal tracking software is preferred.
• Ability to multi-task to support multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must be team oriented with the ability to work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Track the receipt, inspection, approval and return of all deliverables required by the contract.
• Monitor and report the supplier's production schedule to ensure milestones are being met.
• Prepare and present schedule updates and other status reports to the project team.
• Assess potential fabrication or shipment delays and collaborate with the supplier to resolve to meet deliverables.
• Consult with the supplier to ensure timely transportation and lifting plans and communicate these plans to the jobsite according to construction sequencing parameters.
• Manage and schedule deliveries to multiple sites and serves as a liaison between the supplier and the site personnel.
• Manage material deliveries onsite and identify and report discrepancies to the supplier and recommend resolution of the discrepancies.
• Ensure final documentation is submitted for completion of payment milestones.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
