Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biological, physical, environmental sciences, engineering, or closely related field; five years of professional environmental protection experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Valid driver's license required.
• PA residency requirement must be met.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Program Oversight: Manage waste regulatory programs to ensure inspections and enforcement meet state and federal requirements.
• Staff Leadership: Direct daily operations, review performance, provide guidance, ensure training needs are met.
• Compliance Review: Evaluate case files, enforcement recommendations, facility operations and regulatory adherence.
• Emergency Response: Coordinate staff coverage and support cleanup after hazardous releases, spills, or disasters.
• Data Management: Maintain accurate entries in DEP systems and monitor trends and program effectiveness.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Communicate with facility operators, officials, and partners to explain rules.
