Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protection is seeking a Professional Geologist Manager to lead hydrogeologic projects ensuring safe drinking water for communities across the region.

You will oversee technical analyses, supervise licensed geologists, coordinate inspections, and direct emergency geologic responses in regulatory compliance for public water systems. A PA license is required, with telework options available up to three days per week.

Qualifications

• Two years as a Licensed Professional Geologist or two years of professional geology experience with an active license.
• Bachelor's degree in geology or closely related field.

Responsibilities

• Oversee hydrogeologic evaluations for regulatory compliance.
• Direct and supervise a team of licensed geologists and trainees.
• Prepare analyses, provide written feedback, and consult with applicants and officials.
• Coordinate inspections for public water system sites and assess contamination risks.
• Coordinate and direct geologic reviews for emergency drinking water responses.
