Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an experienced Environmental Superintendent to lead our Environmental Team at the Cortez Mine. The successful candidate will ensure regulatory compliance, maintain ISO 14001 certification, and manage state permitting activities to support site initiatives.

You will build strong relationships with regulatory authorities, oversee the Environmental Management System, and guide project teams, contractors, and operations toward continuous environmental improvement and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• Minimum seven years in environmental compliance programs with at least three in supervision.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Federal and State permitting (e.g., NEPA) required.
• Familiarity with ISO 14001 and strong communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of environmental professionals to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate state-level permitting strategies and manage permit applications.
• Oversee the Environmental Management System (EMS) and record keeping.
• Serve as liaison with environmental regulatory agencies.
• Monitor budgets and procurement of contractor services.
• Lead investigations of environmental incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Provide training on environmental obligations to staff.
• Support field operations outdoors year-round.
