Job summary

APM Terminals Pier 400 in Los Angeles, CA, seeks a Head of Environmental to lead the environmental strategy, governance, and regulatory compliance programs for one of the world's most advanced terminals. You will guide sustainability initiatives, partner with leadership, regulators, and customers, and oversee the EMS to ensure full compliance with applicable standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of leadership in environmental performance.
• Four-year degree; master's degree and/or relevant environmental certifications is a plus.
• Strong ability to communicate with agencies, legislators, NGOs, and customers.
• Experience with ISO 14001 and regulatory compliance within large operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the terminal's environmental strategy in line with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Act as the principal environmental advisor to senior management.
• Lead the ISO 14001 EMS and ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and port regulations.
• Drive emissions reduction, waste minimization, and decarbonization initiatives in partnership with operations and projects.
• Build relationships with regulators, customers, and community stakeholders; represent the terminal during inspections and permitting.
