Pacific Merchant Shipping Association is seeking an Environmental and Regulatory Affairs Lead in Long Beach. You will oversee regulatory matters for vessels and terminals, provide strategic policy input, and engage with regulators and members on environmental issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or environmental science or related technical field required.
  • Five years of working experience in technical, regulatory affairs or similar energy or environmental field required.
  • Ten plus years of working experience preferred.
  • Maritime, freight, logistics, military, and/or transportation industry experience highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and analysis on regulatory and legislative matters affecting the maritime industry; develop policy direction for the Association and members.
  • Oversee environmental regulatory matters for ocean-going vessels and terminal equipment, including air quality, fuels, engines, and zero-emissions technology.
  • Translate complex regulatory language into summaries for members and facilitate internal discussions to reach policy consensus.
