Job summary

Port Houston seeks an Environmental Compliance Manager to lead a team through permitting, auditing, and a wide range of environmental programs across air, water, waste, sustainability, and regulatory oversight. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resource Management, or a closely related field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in environmental permitting and compliance.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience coordinating with EPA, TCEQ and other environmental agencies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and oversee environmental programs with coordinators.
• Ensure regulatory compliance across Port Houston operations.
• Mentor Environmental Compliance Coordinators and assist in strategic planning.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies to ensure permits are in place and compliant.
• Oversee phase I–III ESAs and consulting contracts for environmental projects.
• Monitor and interpret environmental legislation at all levels and adapt plans accordingly.
