Job summary

ASL in Anchorage, AK is seeking a dynamic environmental science professional for field characterization, monitoring, and remediation projects. You will conduct sampling of groundwater, soil, sediment, surface water, and air, collect and record data, and oversee groundwater well installations while coordinating field activities.

The position offers growth through multiple levels with responsibilities ranging from fieldwork to project leadership and technical mentoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Physical/Environmental Sciences or a related field.
• Ability to pass background checks by Federal Agencies to obtain security access badges.
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint Online).
• Adept at explaining technical aspects of fieldwork to internal and external clients verbally and in writing.
• Three to five years of experience for Level II; five to seven years for Level III; eight or more years for Senior.

Responsibilities

• Conducting contaminated site characterization, monitoring, and remediation field assessments per work plans.
• Traveling to field sites by aircraft, motor vehicles, ATVs, or watercraft for fieldwork and meetings.
• Field screening and sampling for contaminants and environmental parameters per SOPs and regulations.
• Documenting field operations with notes and forms; communicating with project managers via phone, email, and reports.
• Verifying safety and that project specifications are met; scheduling and overseeing subcontractors.
