Job summary

ASL in Anchorage, AK seeks a geologist to lead field characterization, monitoring, and remediation projects with periodic travel. You will perform groundwater, soil, sediment, and air sampling, and assist in planning and reporting while advancing your career in a dynamic environment.

Level II–Senior roles require knowledge of environmental laws, strong data management, and effective communication with project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or geological sciences is required.
• Ability to pass background checks by federal agencies to obtain security access badges.
• Experience with groundwater sampling, soils, sediments, and environmental data collection.

Responsibilities

• Conduct contaminated site characterization, monitoring, and remediation field assessments.
• Travel to field sites by aircraft, vehicles, or other transport.
• Perform field screening and sampling of contaminants per SOPs and regulations.
• Oversee installation and development of borings and monitoring wells.
• Document field operations and communicate progress to project managers.
