Job summary

New World Engineering, a part of True Environmental and its partner firms, seeks an Environmental Scientist I for its NYC office. You will lead project and field work, conducting Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments and developing Remedial Action Workplans for NYC area sites.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of environmental consulting experience, strong writing and interpersonal skills, and is prepared to supervise staff and train entry-level personnel.

Qualifications

• BS in Environmental Engineering or related field required.
• 2+ years of environmental consulting experience.
• Experience performing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II Environmental Site Investigations.
• Proficiency in logging borings and documenting soil lithology.
• Working knowledge of NYSDEC Rules, Regulations and Guidance documents.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel across NYC, Westchester, and Long Island.

Responsibilities

• Lead project and field work, including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments/Investigations.
• Prepare Remedial Action Workplans for the NYC metropolitan area.
• Assist with training entry level staff and supervise junior team members.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and plans; manage data and evaluations.
