Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience in environmental emergency response, spill response, remediation, and regulatory compliance.
• Pathway toward Connecticut DEEP PEP certification with appropriate training.

Responsibilities

• Provides environmental oversight and technical support for assigned service area.
• Responds to and manages OHM releases with assessment, containment, mitigation, cleanup, sampling, and reporting.
• Oversees spill response activities and coordinates with environmental contractors and operations.
• Participates in scheduled emergency response on-call rotations, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Prepares and certifies release documentation and closure reports under Connecticut DEEP requirements when qualified as a Connecticut PEP.
• Manages hazardous and regulated materials from company operations, including disposal.
• Develops SPCC plans and supports LEPC/Tier 2 reporting.
• Provides training and guidance on environmental programs and policies.
