Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking an Environmental Coordinator to provide environmental support for electric and gas operations within the assigned service area. The role emphasizes emergency response, OHM releases management, spill containment, and regulatory compliance.

The candidate should pursue Connecticut PEP certification to strengthen program leadership. Responsibilities include coordinating hazardous materials management, substation SPCC planning, and reporting to regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of relevant environmental experience.
• Experience in environmental emergency response, spill response, remediation, compliance, and hazardous materials management.

Responsibilities

• Provides environmental oversight and technical support for assigned service area.
• Responds to OHM releases including assessment, containment, mitigation, cleanup, sampling, reporting, and regulatory closure.
• Directs spill response activities and coordinates with environmental contractors and operations.
• Participates in on-call environmental emergency response rotations, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Supports environmental programs during major storm restoration and emergencies.
• Prepares and certifies release documentation and closure reports per Connecticut DEEP requirements when qualified as a Connecticut PEP.
