Job summary

Actalent seeks a Reliability Test Engineer for a 12-month contract-to-hire in Mountain View, CA. The role focuses on environmental qualification campaigns for high-power compute modules and ECUs, leveraging Linux for log analysis and telemetry, while collaborating with Electrical, Mechanical, and Test Automation teams to ensure rigorous test controls.

You will run thermal, vibration, and shock tests, audit setups, and debug test infrastructures, with documentation in Jira and precise test

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Strong experience in Linux for log inspection, telemetry monitoring, and packet analysis.
• Proficiency in analyzing complex test logs, especially Ethernet networking logs.
• Hands-on with electrical bench test equipment and data acquisition systems.
• Experience with environmental test equipment (thermal chambers, vibration tables).
• Experience debugging high-speed links (Ethernet, GMSL) and power rails.
• Ability to produce clear Jira defect tickets and traceable test documentation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with hardware reliability team to plan environmental qualification campaigns.
• Set up and run environmental stress tests on multi-PCB compute architectures.
• Audit test setups including accelerometers, thermocouples, and fixture integrity.
• Perform first-level debugging to distinguish infrastructure issues from failures.
• Provide electrical and networking debugging for test infrastructures.
• Analyze Linux logs and telemetry to isolate root causes and report anomalies.
• Operate environmental test equipment and run targeted diagnostic experiments.
• Document test setups, procedures, and results with traceability.
