Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking an Associate Manager of Environmental/PSM to lead environmental management and process safety at the plant, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while driving safety and sustainability initiatives.

You will oversee EMS and PSM programs, coordinate ISO 14001-related activities, and mentor staff through training and development, with occasional travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental, health and safety or related field with 3+ years of experience.
• Experience leading and coaching staff or projects.
• Ability to make strategic decisions under stress, including emergency response.
• Willingness to work long hours, weekends, and be on-call.
• Occasional travel to collaborate with others.

Responsibilities

• Maintain EMS and PSM programs to meet regulatory and company standards.
• Oversee policy compliance, report non-compliance, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement of Environmental/PSM processes.
• Coordinate training for production and management per OSHA and regulatory programs.
• Lead and coach team to foster positive employee experience.
