Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Ohio is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to lead low- to moderate-complexity environmental consulting projects from initiation through completion. You will coordinate staffing, budgets, field activities, and client communication to deliver safe, compliant results.

The role requires strong project management, knowledge of environmental principles, and mentoring of junior staff.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related experience.
• Bachelor's and/or Master's in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Natural or Environmental Science, Geology, or other degree relevant to environmental consulting.
• A Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (P.G.) is preferred; additional licensure or certifications may be required depending on work performed.
• Good knowledge of environmental principles and applications and regulations, permitting processes, and test methods.
• Strong project management and consulting skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build and maintain client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Directs project setup and field implementation activities.
• Assigns qualified staff to project activities.
• Oversees groundwater, soil, and media investigations; reviews field reports and project documentation.
• Maintains regular communication with clients and develops client relationships.
• Manages project budgets and monitors financial performance; prepares change orders and invoices.
• Coordinates project scope, schedule, budget, and resource requirements; mentors junior staff.
• Leads project discussions with clients and stakeholders; coordinates field and office resources.
