Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Roanoke, VA is seeking an Environmental Project Manager I to lead environmental consulting projects of low to moderate complexity through all phases, including planning, staffing, technical delivery, client communication, and financial oversight.

You will coordinate resources, mentor staff, support business development, and ensure projects meet quality, schedule, budget, and safety expectations while maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of related environmental experience.
• Bachelor's and/or Master's in civil/environmental sciences or geology.
• P.E. or P.G. preferred; licensure may be required.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and test methods.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate with clients.

Responsibilities

• Manages environmental projects from initiation through completion.
• Coordinates scope, schedule, budget, and resources.
• Mentors junior staff and supports team development.
• Maintains regular communication with clients and builds client relationships.
• Oversees project budgets and financial performance.
• Prepares change orders and invoices.
• Directs field and office staff and field activities.
• Reviews field reports and ensures project quality.
