Job summary

GHD is seeking an Environmental Project Manager / Senior Environmental Project Manager to lead contaminated site assessment, remediation, and regulatory closure projects for Class I railroad clients across North America. The role blends client leadership, project management, and multidisciplinary coordination from investigation through closure.

The successful candidate will manage complex projects, develop budgets, and mentor teams while advancing environmental strategies and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering.
• Professional Geologist or Professional Engineer license a plus.
• OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification a plus.
• eRailsafe certification a plus.
• Experience: PM 5–10 years for environmental consulting; 10+ years for Senior PM.
• Experience leading remediation projects and regulatory closure strategies.
• Experience preparing regulatory work plans and reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental projects and project teams across lifecycle phases.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, and client communication.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to deliver outcomes.
• Oversee development of reports, cost estimates, and regulatory submittals.
• Aim for regulatory closure while balancing quality, cost, and risk.
• Mentor and develop junior professionals; engage with clients and regulators.
