Job summary

SCS Engineers is seeking an energetic Environmental Project Manager for our Charleston office to lead brownfield projects, including Phase I/II ESAs and VCC program support. You will direct regional projects, coordinate with clients and regulators, mentor staff, and contribute to business development initiatives.

The role emphasizes in-office work with leadership responsibilities and a strong technical presence in environmental compliance, remediation, and site assessment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field.
• 7+ years of related experience in environmental consulting, with hands-on field and office work.
• Experience in solid or hazardous waste management and groundwater assessments is a plus.
• Knowledge of water quality, environmental regulations and remediation is required.
• Professional Certification (PE/PG/CIH) preferred; OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage brownfield projects, including Phase I/II ESAs and VCC/NRP-VCC support.
• Provide leadership, direction, and coordination for regional projects and clients.
• Mentor staff and contribute to business development activities.
• Ensure health, safety, environment, and regulatory compliance in all activities.
• Coordinate with clients and regulators and manage project budgets and scheduling.
