Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Environmental Planning Intern for Spring 2027 in our Tampa, FL office. You will support the preparation of reports and memos, data collection at project sites, and analysis of environmental impacts with guidance from experienced professionals.

The internship offers hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to client-facing deliverables, with a compensation range of $23–$29 per hour depending on skills and location.

Qualifications

  • No prior experience required if enrolled in a related bachelor’s degree program.
  • Completion of 30 credit hours toward a Planning degree by Spring 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing technical reports, planning memos, and client deliverables.
  • Visit project sites and collect data.
  • Analyze social, cultural, physical and environmental impacts of projects.
  • Provide written and graphic input for memos, studies and status reports.
  • Coordinate exhibit preparation and other planning project components.
  • Coordinate technical work with internal disciplines.
  • Support at public meetings.
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate on tasks.
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn new tools, processes and industry best practices.

Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Environmental Planning Intern – Spring 2027 to join our Tampa, FL office.

Your Role
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, planning memos, and client deliverables.
  • Visits project sites and gathers data.
  • Analyzes social, cultural, physical and environmental impact of projects.
  • Provides written and graphic input for technical memos, feasibility studies, environmental reports and project status reports.
  • Coordinates graphic exhibit preparation and/or other portions of a planning project.
  • Coordinates technical work requirements with internal disciplines.
  • Provides support at public meetings.
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate on project tasks, both independently and in group settings.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn new tools, processes, and industry best practices.
  • Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
About You
  • EXPERIENCE: No experience is generally required if accepted into a Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field.
  • EDUCATION: Must have completed 30 hours towards a Planning degree from an accredited college/university by the start of the internship (Spring 2027).
