Job summary

At AtkinsRéalis in Austin, TX, the Civil Engineering Intern role supports field data collection, documentation, basic drafting, and CAD assignments while learning from seasoned professionals. The internship targets students in ABET-accredited Civil Engineering programs, requires about 90 credit hours completed by Summer 2027, basic AutoCAD skills, and preferred ASCE student membership.

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join our Austin, TX office.

Your Role

• Gathers, logs and summarizes field notes or other data to be used by technicians or professionals in technical studies or projects.
• Establishes and maintains records or files of technical fata or documents.
• Performs mathematical calculations
• Performs various routine drafting and CAD assignments.
• Assists in the preparation of graphic displays and presentation materials.

About You

• EXPERIENCE: No experience is generally required if accepted into an Associate'S or Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field.
• EDUCATION: Must have completed 90 hours towards a Civil Engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2027).
• SPECIAL SKILLS: Must have basic AutoCAD skills
• PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS: Student ASCE Chapter Membership or similar preferred

Additional Information

Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
