Overview
Kimley-Horn's Nashville, TN office is seeking an Environmental Planner/Project Manager with 4+ years of experience to join their Environmental team. This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities
- Help expand the multidisciplinary planning practice in Tennessee.
- Manage and prepare NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) documents, including training materials and guidance documents, with a firm knowledge of planning and environmental linkage principles.
- Attend meetings and communicate with clients, government entities, and regulatory agencies to fulfill project regulations and requirements.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules.
- Build meaningful internal and external professional relationships.
- Collaborate with industry professionals, jurisdictions, and contractors.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of planning experience conducting environmental and planning studies for DOTs and municipal transportation agencies.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Botany, Biology, or related field.
- Experience in preparing NEPA documents and related environmental technical studies.
- Strong technical writing skills and experience in detailed technical report writing.
- Knowledge of NEPA agency coordination efforts.
- Ability to assist with public involvement activities.
- Interest in working with planners and designers to minimize ecological impacts.
- Willingness to travel for projects as needed.
- Strong sense of urgency, self-initiative, and client service orientation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
