Overview

Kimley-Horn's Nashville, TN office is seeking an Environmental Planner/Project Manager with 4+ years of experience to join their Environmental team. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

  • Help expand the multidisciplinary planning practice in Tennessee.
  • Manage and prepare NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) documents, including training materials and guidance documents, with a firm knowledge of planning and environmental linkage principles.
  • Attend meetings and communicate with clients, government entities, and regulatory agencies to fulfill project regulations and requirements.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules.
  • Build meaningful internal and external professional relationships.
  • Collaborate with industry professionals, jurisdictions, and contractors.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of planning experience conducting environmental and planning studies for DOTs and municipal transportation agencies.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Botany, Biology, or related field.
  • Experience in preparing NEPA documents and related environmental technical studies.
  • Strong technical writing skills and experience in detailed technical report writing.
  • Knowledge of NEPA agency coordination efforts.
  • Ability to assist with public involvement activities.
  • Interest in working with planners and designers to minimize ecological impacts.
  • Willingness to travel for projects as needed.
  • Strong sense of urgency, self-initiative, and client service orientation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
