Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager with Child Welfare experience for a 12+ month remote position, with the possibility of extension. The candidate may need to attend on-site meetings in Raleigh, NC, and must work EST business hours.

Description:

This role involves working with multiple stakeholders, project teams, divisions, departments, and vendors to strategize, implement, and maintain modernization initiatives for social services and Medicaid programs. The position requires interaction with all staff levels, including executives.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Review project proposals for timelines, funding, procedures, staffing, and resource allocation.
  • Identify and schedule project milestones and activities.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Establish work plans and staffing, including recruitment or assignment of personnel.
  • Ensure project goals align with business objectives and are achieved.
  • Assign duties, define authority, and coordinate activities to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Review status reports and adjust plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with business and cross-functional teams for Business Case and Cost Benefit analysis.
  • Manage vendor onboarding and coordinate with cross-functional teams and vendors.
  • Identify risks and opportunities across projects.
  • Manage budgets, resource allocations, and expectations.
  • Ensure program compliance with State IT Roadmap, Privacy, and Security requirements.

Skills:

  • Effective communication tailored to the audience.
  • Excellent written and presentation skills.
  • Experience working with all staff levels, clients, and IT personnel.

  • Experience with project management tools like Microsoft Project (≥3 years).

  • Effective communication at all levels.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (highly desired).
  • PMI PMP certification (desired).

  • Managing statewide IT projects (desired).
  • Implementing governance models for IT modernization (desired).
