The position:
The Implementation Project Manager (IPM) oversees the full lifecycle of client onboarding and service expansions for Thomas & Company. This role requires independent ownership of complex and enterprise implementation projects, cross-functional leadership, strategic thinking, and client-facing problem-solving. The IPM ensures timely and accurate delivery of contracted services by managing technical setup, internal dependencies, client communication, and post go-live transitions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the full implementation process for new clients and service expansions, including kickoff, data acquisition, testing, configuration, go-live, and post go-live support
- Serve as the primary project lead and point of contact for clients, demonstrating high-level communication, professionalism, and strategic consulting skills
- Document and maintain implementation activity using preferred software, following all established team processes, documentation standards, and tracking requirements to ensure visibility and accountability across projects
- Drive internal alignment with stakeholders across the various service lines and teams to meet implementation timelines and quality standards
- Manage multiple, concurrent implementations with varying complexity, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines across a portfolio of clients
- Analyze client contracts and ensure implementation scope aligns with contractual obligations and internal capabilities
- Translate complex client needs into executable work within our standard implementation project plans and timelines, ensuring proactive identification of risks, blockers, and mitigation strategies
- Meet established implementation KPIs (e.g., cycle time, service readiness, client satisfaction) and escalate risks and opportunities to leadership proactively. While not responsible for tracking these metrics directly, the IPM is accountable for delivering results that align with these benchmarks
- Drive cross-functional coordination with supporting roles, including data analysts, to ensure project milestones are met on time and dependencies are addressed efficiently.
- Lead or contribute to discussions related to data file layouts and technical project requirements, ensuring clear documentation and follow-up
- Triage, document, and escalate data-related issues identified during the implementation process to the appropriate technical teams for resolution
- Deliver effective knowledge transfer and documentation to internal teams post go-live
- Participates and drives culture initiatives at Thomas and Company
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably Business related; equivalent work experience will not be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of project management experience in a client-facing onboarding/implementation environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and navigate competing priorities independently
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including executive-level client interaction
- Strong analytical skills and experience with scoping requirements, mapping processes, and managing technical integrations
- Project Management Certification preferred
