Overview

Kimley-Horn's Nashville, TN office is seeking an Environmental Planner/Project Manager with 4+ years of experience to join their Environmental team! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities
  • Will help expand out multi-disciplinary planning practice in Tennessee
  • Has expertise in managing and preparing NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) documents, preparation of NEPA training materials and guidance documents and a firm knowledge of planning and environmental linkage principals
  • Attend meetings and communicate with clients, government entities, and various regulatory agencies to fulfill any regulations and requirements relating to projects
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules
  • You will flourish on both building meaningful internal and external professional relationships
  • You will work closely and collaboratively with other industry leading professionals, various jurisdictions, and contractors
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of planning experience conducting environmental and planning studies for DOT's and municipal transportation agencies
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Botany, Biology, or related field
  • Preparation of NEPA documents including management and preparation related environmental technical studies
  • Possess strong technical writing skills and have experience writing detailed technical reports
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NEPA required agency coordination efforts
  • Knowledge and ability to assist with public involvement related activities
  • Interest in working with planners and designers to avoid and minimize ecological impacts
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel for projects as needed
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
  • Desire to provide exceptional client service
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
