Job summary

Del Mar College invites applications for a TERM INSTRUCTOR - ENVIRONMENTAL/PETROCHEMICAL POOL to teach courses as needed across multiple times and locations. This continuous recruitment maintains a rolling pool of qualified applicants for temporary assignments.

Open to all applicants; initial application valid for one year with option to reapply. Minimum qualifications include an AS in Environmental/Petrochemical Lab Technology or a BS in Chemistry and at least three years of related work

Qualifications

General knowledge of the Petrochemical and Environmental industry.
Must have worked with the various analytical instruments used in industry analytical laboratories and have good understanding of how the instruments work and how to trouble-shoot them.
Good understanding of the environmental regulations as they apply to the petrochemical industry.

Responsibilities

Teach assigned courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need.
Maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and community; courses may include online and/or dual-credit/early college classes.
Adapt instruction to meet departmental and student needs.
